Job Description
We are seeking experienced Flux Core Welders (FCAW) proficient in welding with .052" flux-cored wire in the 2G (Horizontal) and 3G (Vertical) positions. Candidates must be capable of producing high-quality structural welds, including air arcing (carbon arc gouging) weld grooves and completing first-class groove weld repairs that meet stringent quality standards. This position is ideal for welders with experience in heavy industrial fabrication, marine repair, structural steel, or manufacturing environments.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform FCAW welding using .052" flux-cored wire on carbon steel.
- Produce high-quality groove welds in 2G and 3G positions.
- Air arc (carbon arc gouge) weld seams and prepare grooves for final welding.
- Complete groove weld repairs to first-class quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions.
- Inspect completed welds for quality and compliance with specifications.
- Operate welding, gouging, and grinding equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean work area and follow all safety procedures.
Working Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Working Hours: 50+ hrs/week
Requirements
- 3-6 years of FCAW welding experience in heavy industrial, structural steel, fabrication, or marine environments.
- Proficient welding with .052" flux-cored wire.
- Ability to weld structural groove welds in 2G and 3G positions.
- Experience using carbon arc gouging (air arc) to remove welds and prepare joints.
- Ability to produce first-class welds with minimal repairs.
- Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
